Experience the intimacy of Citizen’s “Angel Kiss” decorative wall clock. It was one of the very first radio-controlled musical clocks released in Japan. A nearly identical version was also released in the USA for a short time with different melodies and a standard quartz movement. The clock has a charming, continuously-moving pendulum with an adorable cherub that leans in to “kiss” the other as the two smaller ones on the dial swing back and forth. The LED light inside of the heart crystal just above the delightful stained glass design flashes along with each of the 6 J-pop melodies as they play. This was also one of the first musical clocks to receive Rhythm’s signature “Clarion Tone System” (CTS) sound (known as “Aurora” sound in Japan). The clock is housed under a convex glass.
This clock is radio-controlled, as many Japanese Rhythm clocks are, but the radio-control function will only work in Japan. So, you will have to set the time manually by pressing and holding the buttons on the back. Click here for a video tutorial I made.
Notes: This piece is the definition of vintage…it’s extremely unique and there’s nothing like it made today. It’s also a pretty difficult model to obtain. With that being said, it definitely has seen better days cosmetically. There are some discolored spots all across the dial and on the gold ornaments on the case. There are also a few marks on the metallic silver; please see the photos to see these imperfections. Even with the cosmetic damage, it has been tested for an extended period of time and works perfectly. It’s the perfect gift for a clock collector!
